The field mouse: a hopping guest in our gardens

The field mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus), also known as the jumping mouse, is an omnivorous rodent that frequents hedges, forest edges and gardens. With a body measuring between 7 and 15 cm and a tail longer than its body, the field mouse is an excellent climber and jumper, enabling it to move easily through different types of habitat.
